Recycling of packages

Polyethylene bags are so widespread that they have become an integral part of our everyday life. They are convenient and make our lives easier in a certain sense. However, if used irresponsibly, the results won't take long to show:

  • What do you see first on a littered beach? Bags.
  • What catches your eye when you go into nature and find someone had a picnic but didn't clean up after themselves? Bags!
  • And the main question: what fills your kitchen cabinet under the sink to the brim? Bags within bags! But what do you still do when you come to the supermarket? Buy bags!

"Isn't that too many bags in one paragraph?" you might ask? Yes, it is! And something clearly needs to be done about it!

Dispose of them in the trash?

Most often, that's what happens! We throw all the trash into a common bin, from where it is taken to landfills, where it undergoes burial. This is not the most ecological or economical way of waste disposal. The natural process of polyethylene decomposition takes from 200 to 400 years, poisoning the soil and water! In developed countries, they have long ago come up with another method - separate waste collection and sending it for recycling!

"Recycling is the process of material reprocessing for its reuse."

How are we worse? We collect all the unnecessary bags and send them for recycling!

Not all! Bags with oxo-biodegradable additives decompose under the influence of external factors in approximately 3 years. Bags made from PLA pellets (from potato starch) must be composted (read more here). Paper and kraft bags won't cause such issues either. As for bags made of regular polyethylene, they're suitable! They can be used multiple times, then handed over for recycling to give them a second life! And do it many times!

Is it really that simple? Yes! Just once, twice, three times!

  • We collect old polyethylene bags, shred them into uniformly sized particles.
  • Melt the shredded recyclable material to a liquid state.
  • Form polyethylene granules, and from this material, we make new products.

And all this at Chernigov Package?

Yes! We are constantly evolving and advocating for eco-ethics and environmental preservation. Our clients can order potato starch bags, which must be composted. But we didn't stop there.

Observing how well the recycling process is organized in other countries, we thought, why not apply this technology here? We improved our production and set up a line for processing polyethylene! For us, this is not just another technology. It's a new stage and a big step towards waste reduction in our production! Currently, we use polyethylene waste from our own production, but in the future, we plan to accept secondary raw materials from other sources (for now, you can bring used bags to recycling centers in your city).

And what comes out of recycled material?

Bags, new packaging, and more.

Recycling packaging into new packaging and new products "closes the recycling loop." In Europe, recycled plastic is already used to make fibers for clothing, faux fur and wool, carpets, sleeping bags, and soft toy fillings.

Did you know that from 25 recycled plastic bottles, you can make a warm sweater from synthetic wool?

At this stage, our production is making new bags from recycled plastic.

What do you expect to see when you hear about bags made from recycled materials? Imagined it? And now look at our first product, which consists of more than 50% recycled polyethylene - tire bags. Perfectly white and mirror-like glossy!

But that's not all! Bags made from 100% recycled material can also be produced. Meet our new bags from the CHERPACK RECYCLED BAGS series.

How do you like it? Did we manage to surprise you? We are confident that we did!

All this is because Chernigov Package is a team of professionals, and we strictly adhere to production technology. The price for such bags will be lower than for bags made from 100% primary raw materials.
